The Team have been working for the Chinese government in joint venture with Buro Happold on the Masterplan and Urban Design Codes for a new city in Xinjiang Province, Western China.
The city is located on the edge of the Gobi Desert in an area which is experiencing a rapid population growth due to the expansion of international trade, industry and tourism.
With a potential population of up to 300,000 people, the city is intended to set new standards for sustainable development, with innovative proposals for renewable energies, public transport and water conservation.
